Leading a good life and committing to wellness consists of managing your entire being; spirit, soul and body. First, we’ve talked about investing in your spirit and soul, so today, we’re talking about your body.

Our bodies are essential to God, or else He would have created us in another form, right? Therefore, stewarding our health well forms part of stewarding our lives well. How often have you set goals for your health and seen them through? Your body forms part of your 3-part self, and it is just as important to tend to as your Spirit and Soul.

The advantages of committing to wellness: Exercise

The advantages of exercising include academic performance, brain health, muscular fitness, and heart and lung health [CDC], to name a few. In addition, adding a healthy diet that keeps skin, teeth, and eyes healthy; supports muscles; supports brain development; and boosts immunity [CDC]. All of these contribute to your holistic well-being to help you function dexterously. Admittedly, it takes grit to remain devoted to a healthy lifestyle, but it’s worth all the effort. Think of it as a long-term investment in yourself. See, as much as people tend to relate fitness to losing weight and being toned, our different physiques and builds don’t necessarily grant us all the same physical results. However, with your perspective shifted towards the vast benefits of healthy living, you’re likely to remain persistent on the path despite how you feel.

Consistency is essential to wellness.

Consistency is vital when it comes to fitness and healthy eating. Therefore, your motivation to keep your routine will remain regardless of how you feel. Naturally, you’ll have challenges along the way and sometimes inconsistencies, and that’s ok. However, suppose you want to live your days feeling happy in your skin. In that case, it’s paramount that you examine your current habits and behaviours related to eating and physical activity, then evaluate whether they align with your goals for maintaining a healthy lifestyle in the upcoming year.
