Livin' on a Prayer 3: Power
Prayer. Let's look to Jesus. Pretty good example. While Jesus was on earth, He made sure He spent time talking with His Father, because He felt the human pains, frustrations, and struggles that we do. His living took effort, too. He struggled to escape to find quiet, Him-and-His-Father time just as much as we do (if not more - count how many times His attempted down-time is interrupted in the Gospels). Because of that, He felt how necessary prayer time is, even staying up all night to talk things through. The consequences from such devotion were miraculous. Literally.
And for us? Our prayers are just as necessary. And our consequences can be just as amazing. Wow. Prayer is incredibly practical: it clears the way for the Godly and miraculous. Those frustrations and pains that clutter your brain during the day? They've got to go somewhere. Your mind is like an aquarium filter - it gets clogged, and without processing the junk out of there, it'll stay clogged. As we chat these things over with God, we open up space for Him to come and move in them. God wants to enable you to power through life, as much like Jesus as possible. Jesus said that those who believed would do greater things than His miracles (John 14:12). All that power is available, and it comes through prayer.
