Beginning of the End (2)
Okay, back to Matthew 24. After Jesus imparted His wisdom, He went on to talk more about things that also seems pretty relevant to the world we see around us right now. Read Matthew 24:6-8. Jesus knew back when He said those words that so many of His followers would live in a world where scary stuff took place. Let's face it, when we take the time to watch the news, it'd be easy to start panicking about everything that's going on. Wars and rumours of wars? Check. Famines and general world hunger? Check. Earthquakes and other natural disasters? Check. But. Go back to Jesus' words, and you'll notice that He tells us not to be alarmed, because this was always how things were going to unfold.
God's plan is still rolling, it's working out. The seemingly messed up stuff that happens in this world is a symptom of where we are in time, and His plan takes that into account. Our place in that, as God's representatives, is to do what we can in those situations. It's up to us to see where we can love and help people in the midst of those tragedies. And yes, it can feel so hard to make a difference when the circumstances are so big, but it's a big part of what we're here to do.
