God's timing (2)

Isaiah 46:11 NCV

It can be easy to trust that God has a plan for our lives when everything seems to be working out. But what about when nothing seems to be happening? Or when our circumstances seem to make what God has promised seem impossible? Seven hundred and eighty-two years before Jesus was born, the prophet Micah said that He would be born in Bethlehem (have a read of Micah 5:2). But Mary and Joseph were living in Nazareth. So how did God solve the problem? The Roman emperor Augustus decreed that a census should be taken: 'All returned to their own ancestral towns to register for this census. And because Joseph was a descendant of King David, he had to go to Bethlehem in Judea, David's ancient home. He travelled there from the village of Nazareth in Galilee. He took with him Mary, his fiancée, who was now obviously pregnant. And while they were there, the time came for her baby to be born. She gave birth to her first child, a son' (Luke 2:3-7 NLT). If God has planned and promised something, it will happen. God says: 'I will make what I have said come true; I will do what I have planned.' Even when our situations don't seem to be changing, or our circumstances seem impossible, God will make a way. We just need to be patient while He works. The Bible encourages us to: 'Wait for the LORD; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord' (Psalm 27:14 NIV). God can take any situation in our lives and make it work for our good. We need to trust Him, even when we don't see how His plan will come together.
