Confront-action
There's sometimes a place for constructive confrontation, but it takes guts to approach someone who you know needs some corrective help. If someone that you care about has started doing or saying something that has your that's-gotta-be-hurting-your-relationship-with-God senses going, it might be time to step out and (in a loving way) approach them.
Awkward, right? Agreed. To help you out, we reckon there are three main things that come in to play here. 1) Character: Know that Jesus has got you. He wants you to know that nothing can hinder His acceptance of you (Romans 8:39). Not even someone who doesn't see things the same way as you. 2) Courage: Risking some friction between yourself and a friend can be really scary. Jesus sometimes had to look His disciples in the face and give them a stern word (for example, Luke 9:51-56). But when there's a greater good at stake, have courage in what you need to say, and people will respect you for it. 3) Caution. A big part in all of this. Getting hot-headed and deciding to rush in, even with good intentions, might cause more harm than good. You might even subconsciously kind of want a fiery confrontation, to exercise some sort of power or control over someone. That can be tempting. But. Don't risk it; ask God in prayer how and when it's best to deal with an issue. Let Him show you the time and place.
