Fear God
Proverbs 1:7; Proverbs 9:10-12
"The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction." - Proverbs 1:7
"The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding. For through wisdom your days will be many, and years will be added to your life. If you are wise, your wisdom will reward you; if you are a mocker, you alone will suffer." - Proverbs 9:10-12
Today's verses speak about the fear of the Lord and how it is the beginning of all wisdom. I didn't understand it fully the first time I read it, but now I like to believe that having the fear of God is a good thing - it pulls you closer to where He wants you to be.
In other words, by being obedient to God and His commandments; you will begin to understand what His plans and will for your life are - you will receive wisdom from Him. "There is nothing more foolish than an act of wickedness; there is no wisdom equal to that of obeying God." - Albert Barnes
